a slap in the face. a timely and deserved slap in the face.
if u think of it. a pair of strikers in the same team. one striker, proven international, the other, a championship striker. its not a slap in the face to go on a goal drought. its not a slap on the face to get blasted by the manager.
cus the proven international knew that he deserved it, in the recent matches, he was largely
anonymous and disappointing. it
wasnt even a slap in the face that the team lost 8-0.
it was however, a slap in the face to be blasted by the manager in front of a championship striker. who was probably described by the media to show good touches on the ball and made attempts in link up play. while the proven international was said to lack everything, from a consistent show, whether he scored or not, to the lack of
adherence to the tactics, to the lack of desire and ruthlessness in front of goal.
now we know why some players get taken off even thou they have flair, talent and are crowd exciting players. same reason why dirk
kuyt is at
liverpool and
bellamy is at west ham.
